Indonesia has taken another step forward in addressing the challenges of climate change. On August 25, 2025, the Ministry of Environment (KLH) officially launched the National Registry System for Climate Change Control (SRN PPI) Beta Version V.1, a digital platform designed to be more modern, faster, transparent, and user-friendly.
SRN PPI serves as the national data hub recording all climate actions in Indonesia. From the central government, local governments, businesses, communities, to international support all can be connected within one system. The data collected is not only an archive but also an essential foundation for planning, evaluation, and climate diplomacy at the global level.
Deputy for Climate Change Control and Governance of Carbon Economic Value at KLH, Ary Sudijanto, emphasized: "We need a system that can be accessed by all parties, more transparent, and trusted by the world. This new version is the answer."
SRN PPI is a system that records all climate change control actions in Indonesia, ranging from mitigation (reducing greenhouse gas emissions) to adaptation (preparing to face climate impacts). This data is crucial to ensure that actions taken are not fragmented but become part of the national strategy toward net zero emissions.
Indonesia has already set ambitious targets listed in the second Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), which include reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 31.89% independently and up to 43.2% with international support by 2030. Furthermore, Indonesia is targeting carbon neutrality by 2060 or even sooner.
The latest version of SRN PPI is equipped with various features that make it more useful and user-friendly:
With these features, SRN PPI not only stores data but also becomes a tool to monitor progress, analyze achievements, and formulate more targeted climate policies.
The climate crisis is real. Extreme weather is becoming more frequent, natural resources are increasingly threatened, and ecosystems are highly vulnerable. Without serious action, the impacts could extend to food, health, and economic crises.
Through SRN PPI, every effort both small and large will not be overlooked. Tree planting by communities, renewable energy programs by the government, and green business initiatives by companies can all be recorded neatly. Thus, every step becomes part of Indonesia's major journey toward a green and low-carbon future.
SRN PPI also plays a vital role in building trust.
Accurate and open data will also support carbon trading, attract green investment, and strengthen international cooperation. All of these create new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
The journey toward carbon neutrality is not an easy task. However, with a system like SRN PPI, Indonesia has a clear compass to move forward. This system helps measure how far we have progressed, what has been achieved, and what still needs improvement.
This is what makes SRN PPI so strategic: it is not just technology but a tool to ensure that all parties government, businesses, communities, and the international community move together in the same direction.
Let us support SRN PPI. Make every small step from reducing plastic waste, planting trees, to supporting renewable energy a part of the big step toward a low-carbon and sustainable Indonesia.
The green future is in our hands. It is time to act together.
Jejakin’s green programs combine high-tech monitoring, biodiversity restoration, and community-led initiatives to deliver powerful, sustainable change across ecosystems.
